Man, Woman Face Separate Charges After Being Caught In Stolen Vehicle On I-95

A Bridgeport man and Stratford woman have been arrested and charged after police allegedly pulled them over in a stolen vehicle.

Milford Police made a traffic stop on I-95 near Exit 36 Tuesday, Nov. 27 following an equipment violation. Upon investigation, police discovered that the vehicle was stolen from Berlin.

Robert Smith, 24, of Bridgeport was the vehicle’s operator. Smith was taken into custody and charged with larceny in the third degree. He was held on $5,000 bail.

Hollyann Smith, 20, of Stratford, who claims to be unrelated to Robert, was the vehicle’s passenger. She was allegedly in possession of medication she does not have a legal prescription for and was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
